Nir is the author of best-selling book Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products and is an advisor to several Bay Area start-ups and incubators. He has constructed a practical framework for designing better products. The framework gives product managers, designers, and marketers a new way for thinking of the necessary components of changing user behavior. Nir will share the tactics companies like Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Whatsapp, and Twitter use to drive engagement.

BACKGROUND:

Nir Eyal writes, consultes, and teaches about the intersection of psychology, technology, and business. Nir founded and sold over two companies since 2003 and has taught the "Using Neuroscience to Influence Human Behavior" course as a Lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he also received his MBA. In addition to Nirandfar.com, Nir writes for TechCrunch, Forbes, Psychology Today, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and Fortune 500 companies. For most of his career, Nir has worked in the video gaming and advertising industries where he learned, applied, and at times rejected the techniques used to motivate and manipulate users. From this experience, he is able to help companies create behaviors that benefit their users, while educating people on how to build healthful habits in their own lives.
